A friend of mine just got a one owner 1986 635csi with the 5sp manual. Short of a new battery, the car is 100% original. Since the weather was perfect today, we did a small photo session.

the e24 was one of my favorite cars as a little kid. i'm working through my list of 80's euro coupes, current xjs, shopping these now and will finish with a 928.

but i have to say... holy crap, look at how that 3 series dwarfs the 6 series. and its not so much "bigger" but maybe just "beefier?" it does look really good in that blue though.

I think the E24 is the best looking car BMW ever made.

Nice pics! It's interesting looking at the two cars together, almost 30 years apart in design. Aside from the badge and the Hofmeister kink, I couldn't tell that the same company made both cars just by looking at them.

there are still a fair number of BMW touches that are transferred to the F30 from the E24. That being said, look at a 1986 Cadillac and park it next to a 2014 Cadillac and see the similarities.

Not bad. By his one sold for $8k at Barrett Jackson. There is a red one like that for sale on my local CL for $12k.
